The NUSHU Premise:

  • There is a deep craving for true connection in each of us.
  • Connection can only be forged in a space of openness and vulnerability.
  • We won’t allow ourselves to be open and vulnerable without feeling safe.
  • Given the opportunity and the expectation, women will participate in holding a space of safety rooted in love.

A's for your Q's

What is NUSHU?

Through the power of true community, NUSHU holds space for curiosity and evolution for those experiencing profound personal awakening and transformation. The work of NUSHU is grounded in NUSHU Group, a modality that relies on the premise that we are all whole and that the answers we seek are all found inside us. We believe that everyone has the capacity to connect deeply with others, and that when we gather for each other in a container of trust, the potential for healing is vast.

What does the word NUSHU mean?

Nüshu was a mysterious language that was used exclusively by women in Ancient China. Because they were denied formal education, the language was developed by women for each other, in secrecy, over hundreds of years. It was a phonetic script, used to communicate, but it was also employed as a language of tribute, as a way to express love and solidarity amongst women. It was sewn into the seams of clothing or painted on fans when a woman would leave the village.

What is the NUSHU belief system?

At NUSHU, we believe in the power of Group. Our need for heart connection with other human beings is a force as strong as gravity, and yet many feel desperately alone. NUSHU Group is a space for you to share what is on your mind and in your heart and have it received with love, compassion and non-judgment. We believe that speaking your truth in the presence of others is both catharsis and catalyst, and that when you agree to trust and be trusted, give and receive truth, you can sit simultaneously in the role of the healer and the healed.

The Details:

How do we meet?
Virtually, I’ll host this via Zoom on the date listed above.

Will I need to prepare or do anything?
No! Seek out a quiet spot wherever you are and join. “Pass” and “Come back to me” are always an option for sharing - there is no pressure.

What can I expect from the session?
NUSHU Group is a place of safety and healing. It's a place to say things aloud and be witnessed and also a place where vulnerability is strength. In Group, each participant commits to confidentiality and non-judgment along with other helpful guidelines to establish the space.

More practically, I'll offer a set of prompts and we'll all have time to share reflections, with time for journaling in between rounds.

Have questions? Reach out to me directly at kristine@kristineaxe.com.

spots are limited to 6-8 participants per session - you will be notified directly if the group is full
